Sookie's boyfriend has been very distant-in another state, distant. Now she's off to Mississippi to mingle with the underworld at Club Dead-a little haunt where the vampire elite go to chill out. But when she finally finds Bill-caught in an act of betrayal-she's not sure whether to save him...or sharpen some stakes.

Well the I felt the start to this book was rather slow, but as I continued reading I felt myself unable to put the book down. It seems that this series keeps getting better and better with the next book. In this book Sookie has to travel to Mississippi to track down her boyfriend Bill who has been captured, only to discover that he has intended to leave her.

Through out her journey Sookie meets new characters one of my particular favorites is Alcide, which I hope he continues through out the rest of the series. Alcide is a Werewolf who helps Sookie on her journey, and I like his role mainly because you get more insight on how they view "Weres". Also if you are a huge Eric fan you will love this book (I know I did!) Eric plays big roles in this book. Also there is a posibility for a love square? Hmm I guess you guys will just have to see who it is =)

Overall like I said I love this series and I am just happy to see that its not always Bill and Sookie fighting. My opinion is I think Sookie should hook up with Eric, he is alot funnier =) However I do recommend reading this, just make sure you have read "Dead until Dark", and "Living Dead in Dallas" first. Till next time....

Happy Reading!

  1. Your obviously digging this series a little bit more than I am (as we're both exactly at the same book on the same day... huh), but I think we have similar reasons for liking book 3. You don't like the squabbling between Bill and Sookie, and I don't like the fact that it keeps slapping me in the face that I'm reading a damn romance novel every time those two are on "stage" together.

His absence from pretty much this entire book has proven to be quite the blessing. Onto book 4!

  2. Club Dead was one of my favorites in the whole series. I liked Alcide in the first books but later on he started to grind my gears. This was the first book I really started to like Eric! Now I'm almost totally Team Eric and a just a tiny bit Team Bill (and that's only because I like Bill on True Blood).

  3. Bill is a shmuck. If you like Eric, just keep on reading -- he's gonna show up a lot more in the next books : )
