Author Of The Month: January

Maggie Stiefvater
I have chosen Maggie Stiefvater as my Author of TheMonth because I find her to be an amazing writer, and an all around amazing person. I find her words inspiring, and that she can paint a picture with them. I also find it interesting that she is not only a writer but has many talents, including art (you all know me a big art geek lol). So I hope you all enjoy her work as much as I do and below is a little bit about her from her website (for more information from her website Click Here).... Enjoy!

All of my life decisions have been based around my inability to be gainfully employed. Talking to yourself, staring into space, and coming to work in your pajamas are frowned upon when you're a waitress, calligraphy instructor, or technical editor (all of which I've tried), but are highly prized traits in novelists, musicians, and artists (I've made my living as one of these since I was 22).

I now live an eccentric life in the middle of nowhere, Virginia, with my charmingly straight-laced husband, two small kids, two neurotic dogs, one criminally insane cat, and a 1973 Camaro
named Loki.

I'm an avid reader, an award-winning colored pencil artist, and play several musical instruments, including the Celtic harp, the piano
, and the bagpipes. I also make great cocktail party conversation.

Here are some of my favorite works by her:

Whats Your Favorite Maggie Stiefvater Book?

Happy Reading!

  1. OHH Maggie, LOVE her - and not sure I could pick which book I like best - though it's probably either Shiver or Ballad (most people liked Lament best but for me, I really enjoyed Ballad) - though it's TOUGH to pick! She's an awesome writer and I cant wait for Linger!

  2. Love Maggie! Love all of her books, but Ballad is my fave because I have a super huge crush on James!
